Making an important anniversary work as a fundraising event

Our challenge

To develop a new, profitable and scalable fundraising event that would engage both the serving and retired RAF communities, that could be launched around the Battle of Britain 75th and can be rolled-out year after year.

What we did

We consulted with RAFBF Regional Fundraisers to further understand the audience’s motivations and barriers. Based on what we learned from the audiences, we developed ‘Great British Sunday Lunch’, which encourages RAF families on stations (serving) and at home (mainly retired) to gather their loved ones together for a special lunch.

It celebrates the contribution the RAF has made, and continues to make, to our country, by supporting the important work of the RAF Benevolent Fund.

For this multi-channel campaign, we created promotional posters, flyers and pull up banners for use at RAF events and on stations, a direct mail acquisition pack, and event kit packs – including a ‘how to’ guide, menu and recipe ideas, invitations, place cards, decorations, collection pot labels, and games – email communications and a thank you letter.
